About this guide

This guide is designed to link the user to basic resources, including databases and Websites, for grants and funding to individuals.  Library staff can provide a brief  overview of the Foundation Center's databases, but CANNOT answer questions about funding from specific government agencies or other providers.

Forefront Library supports the nonprofit and philanthropic sector.  This guide is offered as a courtesy.  We recommend that you contact your school's financial aid office or library, your public library, your elected officials or applicable professional associations for additional information about funding opportunities.  Your employer or union also may offer scholarships.

Grants for Individuals - Websites

The following guide compiled by Jon Harrison from Michigan State University focuses "primarily on funding opportunities for individuals, such as financial aid or scholarships for students, rather than funding for nonprofit organizations."  It includes many resources that are not restricted to Michigan residents.  Please note that we are unable to request access to MSU's books or databases.
