Reference Requests

Reference and Research for Members

Reference requests must be submitted on behalf and in support of the member organization.  The benefits of membership are not transferable from one organization to another based on an individual's connection to both.  Requests include, but are not limited to, the following:

Prospect Research

  • unlimited number of Foundation Directory Online searches based on search criteria such as subject, population served, geographic focus and type of funding
  • twenty individual Foundation Directory Online or GuideStar grantmaker profiles per member organization per week when you provide the list of grantmakers
  • twenty individual Foundation Directory Online or GuideStar recipient organization profiles per member organization per week when you provide the list of grantmakers
  • twenty individual donor profiles per member organization per week (we need each donor’s name, city, state and zip code, along with a home address if you have it)

As you prepare your proposals

  • salary surveys and job descriptions for specific position titles
  • samples and templates of requests for proposals, grant applications, and budgets

As you develop your individual giving program

  • best practices for direct mail, galas, and other means of fundraising

As you move your organization forward

  • statistics on the sector
  • research on emerging trends in the sector, on both a local and global scale
  • sample RFPs, site visit forms, and other tools for grantmakers
  • a collection of books, articles, and LibGuides cultivated to promote the sector
